Local 1a has awarded Honorary Life Membership to members of our Local who have assisted in and supported the aims and objectives of the Local in a significant way.

Sheila Sampson, Edith Brown and Ruth Russell were founding members.

Local 1a assists its Members through the Local 1a Bursary Fund. Funds for the bursaries are allocated from Local dues rebated by MNU. Bursaries are intended to be used by Members to further their education in Health or Labour-related studies.
